Foundry Theater movie screen

Huntington’s Foundry Theater, located on the second floor of City Hall, celebrated the arrival of a brand new cinema quality projection screen, measuring 27 feet in length. Huntington News Network was delighted to have taken part in such a special occasion; most delighted though were those who keep the foundry running on a day-to-day basis.

“We are so excited,” said Foundry representative Emily Conzett, “Oh my gosh, we are so excited!”

Not only is the Foundry getting a brand new projection screen, but the facility has newly been equipped with a fresh audio/visual system.

“We have a full new setup,” continued Conzett, “Creative Audio and Visual set us up…we’ve got all the goods to make this sound so great. Movies will sound amazing. It’s all a good setup for the Appalachian Film Festival we have coming up.”

The Foundry, open for nearly two years, will host 2023’s Appalachian Film Festival on August 18, 19, and 20, first showcasing music video submissions at our Jewel City’s favorite concert venue, The Loud.

For those interested in submitting works to the Appalachian Film Fest, submissions will be open until June 16th.
