April 6th 2023 was my 27th birthday, happening during a week where very few events were happening in the Jewel City; my goal was to spend the day driving around the Huntington/Barboursville area collecting free birthday treats, then I figured, why not share this info with all Huntingtonians?

Here are seven treats I collected for free on my birthday:

  1. Firehouse Subs (Corner of Hal Greer Blvd and Third Avenue) gave me a free medium sub, no restrictions on the kind of sub either.
  2. Taco Bell gave me a free medium Baja Blast Freeze, which I drank immediately.
  3. Jersey Mike’s Subs (Route 60 in Barboursville near “Gucci” Kroger) gave me a free regular sub, again no restrictions on type of sub.
  4. Great American Cookies at the Huntington Mall gave me a $5 off coupon which I used to get a cream filled double doozie cookie, no purchase necessary.
  5. Sbarro at the Huntington Mall gave me a free piece of pizza.
  6. Auntie Anne’s Pretzels at the Huntington Mall gave me a free cinnamon pretzel.
  7. Baskin Robbins on Hal Greer Blvd gave me a free scoop of ice cream.

In the end, all I spent was time and gas picking up the items; no money was spent retrieving the items themselves.

Many of these programs only require a sign up to their rewards club or email list, which can be accomplished through smart phone applications or directly through a company’s website. It is recommended to sign up for these perks at least a week in advance.
