“Appalachia is a geographical region, but also a lifestyle and a subculture.” For screening at this festival, the filmmakers and/or the film project should, of course, have a connection to Appalachia. “We are accepting films that reflect and celebrate the Appalachian region.”
The Appalachian Film Festival is relaunching this year after being dormant for a decade. In the past, it was held during the years 2003-2013. Specific filmmaker workshops and festival events in addition to the main competition screenings are yet to be announced.
