For Marshall, it will be the first live competition for Director of Track and Field Keith Roberts’ Herd. Roberts joined the Herd in July after a successful stint at Eastern Illinois.

“I’m excited to see how our student-athletes compete when the lights come on,” Coach Roberts said. “They have been training well all fall and this first meet is sort of a rust buster as well as a reward for their hard work. It’s a long season and this is just the beginning. It will give us a good gauge on where we are at and what they need to work on over break.”

Following Friday’s meet, the track and field program will be finished for 2023. Following the break, the Herd will continue its 2023-24 season at home for the Marshall Alumni Classic.
