The Mountain Health Arena is hosting the Huntington Comic and Toy Convention Saturday, August 12 and Sunday, August 13. This is a popular event for those who enjoy dressing in cosplay outfits as their favorite characters while they check out vendor booths, Q&A discussions with celebrity guests, photo op meet n’ greets, live music, costume contests, and more.
Comicon guests will include voice actors like Cal Dodd, voice of Wolverine in X-Men: The Animated Series and Tom Kenny, the voice of SpongeBob SquarePants. The band Tom Kenny and the Hi-Seas will perform at 8pm on Saturday at Pullman Square.
There will be comic book creators visiting like Bob Hall who created the West Coast Avengers for Marvel Comics and Jim Shooter who was a Marvel Comics’ editor-in-chief, plus several more creators who have worked for D.C. and Marvel.
This event brings in a surprisingly wide range of pop culture celebrities to meet in addition to those linked to superhero comics such as AEW wrestling star Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. and Corey Taylor, lead vocalist of the band Slipknot.
Tickets for the convention are $35 on Saturday and $30 on Sunday. Kids under 10 are FREE entry with paid adult ticket.
