West Virginia men’s basketball is showing strong interest in one of the top available frontcourt players in the transfer portal—Charleston forward Ante Brzovic.
The 6-foot-10, 225-pound senior recently entered the portal after a stellar 2023-24 season at the College of Charleston. Brzovic averaged 18.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 54.4% from the field, which led the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA). His consistent dominance on both ends of the court earned him First Team All-CAA and NABC All-District Second Team honors.
Brzovic finished the season with eight double-doubles and ranked seventh nationally with 240 total field goals. His efforts also earned him a spot in the Charleston record books—ranking 11th all-time in single-season scoring (606 points), 8th in field goals made (240), and 3rd in defensive rebounds (214).
One of his most memorable performances came against Charlotte and The Citadel, where he dropped a career-high 39 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
Over three seasons at Charleston, the Zagreb, Croatia native averaged 13.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game, developing into one of the top mid-major big men in the country. With his size, skill, and scoring ability, Brzovic is expected to draw interest from several high-major programs—and WVU is officially in the mix.
As the Mountaineers continue to rebuild under new leadership, Brzovic could be a key piece to help stabilize the frontcourt and bring instant production next season.
