The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) has announced several temporary road closures in Roane, Wood, and Jackson counties due to upcoming construction projects. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and use detours where necessary.

Roane County – Hollywood Road

Hollywood Road (County Route 27) will be closed between milepost 2.961 and milepost 3.164 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through Friday, June 13. This closure is necessary to allow crews to replace a culvert.

Wood County – Forest Hills Road

Forest Hills Road (County Route 50/3) will be shut down from U.S. Route 50 to Gillespie Run (County Route 16/5) between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily through Friday, June 13, also for culvert installation.

Flagging personnel will be on-site for both projects, and school buses will be accommodated to ensure minimal disruption.

Jackson County – Old U.S. 21

A 24-hour road closure is now in effect on Jackson County Route 21 (Old U.S. 21) at milepost 12.75, located between Kenna and Fairplain. This closure will remain in place through the end of August while a bridge replacement project is underway.
Drivers will be detoured via Interstate 77 for the duration of the work.

Plan Ahead

Drivers are advised to allow extra time for travel and use caution when driving near construction areas. Please note that work schedules may change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
