Nonprofits across the Mid-Ohio Valley can now apply for funding through the West Virginia Central Federal Credit Union’s Day of Giving, an initiative designed to support organizations that uplift children, seniors, and veterans.
The application window officially opened on June 1 through the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation’s (PACF) online grant portal. This annual program empowers nonprofits by helping them access the resources they need to make a lasting impact in their communities.
Last year, more than 200 nonprofits benefited from the program, with over $240,000 distributed to support vital causes such as education, healthcare, and local development. Organizations selected for funding will be recognized during WV Central’s Day of Giving event in late October, hosted in Vienna.
This initiative is spearheaded by WV Central Federal Credit Union (WVCFCU), with PACF serving as the trusted partner in managing the grant process. Together, they ensure that funding goes to organizations aligned with WV Central’s mission of making a meaningful difference in the lives of the community’s most vulnerable members.
Michael A. Tucker, President and CEO of WVCFCU, expressed pride in the ongoing effort:
“Our members and team are dedicated to making a true difference. As Picasso said, ‘The purpose of life is to give your gift away.’ That’s exactly what we aim to do—give back to the community that has embraced us as family.”
Julie Posey, Senior Development and Stewardship Officer at PACF, echoed that sentiment:
“By partnering with WV Central, we can amplify their impact through streamlined fund management and expert grant administration. It’s a perfect example of how collective giving leads to real change.”
This collaboration between PACF and WVCFCU is just one of the many ways both organizations are working to strengthen West Virginia’s communities.
The PACF, now in its 60th year, has built a legacy of connecting donors with causes they care about, expanding its reach and impact throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley.
