Scruggs (Defensive Back)

Scruggs chose West Virginia over offers from Virginia Tech, Colorado, UNLV, and others. The Missouri native comes from South Alabama, where he recorded 70 tackles and an interception last season. His journey includes stints at Washburn, Central Missouri, and Hutchinson C.C., showing steady growth along the way. Scruggs has one year of eligibility remaining and will bring experience and versatility to the Mountaineers’ secondary.

A speedy wideout, Singleton made his commitment after an official visit to Morgantown. He pulled in 64 catches for 639 yards and two touchdowns last season and added a few rushing yards for good measure. Having started at Akron and also played at Hutchinson C.C., Singleton brings one final season of eligibility and a big-play threat to West Virginia’s offense.

Young Bear (Offensive Lineman)

Young Bear solidified himself as a starter at Tulsa, locking down the left guard position for all 12 games in 2024. With over 1,000 snaps played at the college level, he brings veteran stability to West Virginia’s offensive line. After fielding several offers, he chose WVU and has one year of eligibility left.

Bowie (Wide Receiver)

Bowie, a Martinsburg native, returns home after standout seasons at Concord and Jacksonville State. His 2022 season at Concord was historic, with 102 catches for 1,773 yards and 18 touchdowns. After two seasons at Jacksonville State, Bowie decided to come back to West Virginia for his final two years, offering the Mountaineers another explosive option at receiver.

Also from Martinsburg, Barrick spent three years at Jacksonville State, mainly contributing as a blocking tight end. He caught nine passes for 102 yards during his college career and brings a physical presence to West Virginia’s offense. Barrick will suit up for the Mountaineers for his final year of eligibility.

Henderson, a California native, brings experience from both Texas A&M and Fresno State. In 2023, he completed 53 of 78 passes for 715 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions while adding 104 rushing yards and two scores. With two years of eligibility left, Henderson adds depth and competition to the Mountaineers’ quarterback room.

Traugh (Wide Receiver)

Parkersburg’s own Traugh impressed at Youngstown State, where he earned FCS freshman All-American honors after a 36-catch, 409-yard, five-touchdown season. After redshirting his first year, he now joins West Virginia with three seasons of eligibility left, bringing youth and playmaking ability to the offense.

Woods arrives from North Carolina after one season, still holding four years of eligibility. As a highly decorated high school player with 151 tackles and eight sacks as a senior, Woods has massive potential. His addition gives West Virginia a long-term building block at linebacker.
