Trey Haddad made the most of his first trip to Morgantown—and West Virginia’s coaching staff took notice.
The 2027 wide receiver from Cleveland (Ohio) St. Ignatius impressed at WVU’s first one-day summer camp, walking away with a scholarship offer after a strong showing. Haddad, listed at 6-foot, 170 pounds, caught everything thrown his way and made highlight-reel plays throughout the day.
“I was extremely humbled and also excited to receive an offer,” Haddad said following the camp.
Strong Showing Turns Heads
Haddad took plenty of reps during the event and spent significant time working directly with WVU wide receivers coach Ryan Garrett. That experience not only helped him improve his game but also made a lasting impression.
“Coach Garrett gave me so much feedback on the specifics of playing the position,” Haddad said. “He was impressed with my route running and my ball skills.”
A First Look at WVU—and a Strong One
This was Haddad’s first time visiting West Virginia, and he came away highly impressed with what he saw on and off the field.
“The facilities were amazing. I was super impressed,” he said. “It checked a lot of boxes for me.”
What’s Next for Haddad
Now transitioning into basketball season after recently wrapping up track, Haddad is unsure of where his next college visit will be. But after his performance in Morgantown, it’s likely more attention—and offers—will come his way as the summer unfolds.
For now, the talented athlete can savor a big moment from the start of what’s shaping up to be a busy recruiting journey.
