Remembering Connie Beatrice Allman: A Life of Love, Art, and Faith

Connie Beatrice Allman, formerly of Belpre, Ohio, passed peacefully into her eternal life on April 10, 2025, at Harmar Place in Marietta, Ohio, where she had resided for the past several years. She was 88 years old.

Born on August 3, 1936, Connie was the daughter of Archie Allman and Naomi Allman. After the passing of her father during her childhood, Connie was lovingly raised by her mother and stepfather, Charles Swain, who became a guiding presence in her life. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ray Wenzel Allman.

Connie had a kind, gentle spirit and a heart full of love. She was cherished by all who knew her and shared a special bond with her mother, with whom she collected Fenton Art Glass and Middleton Dolls. A woman of deep faith, Connie found great joy in music and worship and was a member of Grace Gospel Church in Pettyville, West Virginia. She especially loved singing gospel music with her family.

Creativity flowed naturally from Connie—she was a gifted artist who excelled in drawing, painting, calligraphy, and crafts. Her talents extended to music, where she played piano, organ, and other instruments. Her love for the arts and her passion for sharing them brought joy to many.

Professionally, Connie worked for a time as a secretary, and in her later years, she dedicated herself to domestic work, helping several families with care and devotion. Whether through her work, music, or kindness, Connie always put others first.

She is survived by her cousin Patricia Duckworth and husband Joseph, along with extended family and friends who will remember her with love and admiration.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Harmar Place for their compassionate care. Their kindness meant the world to Connie and to her family.

Connie will be laid to rest at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Jamie Sprague officiating. Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home is assisting the family with final arrangements.

Though she has left this world, Connie’s warmth, creativity, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.
