Born on July 24, 1931, in Greenville, Ohio, Ann was the daughter of Alceid Cornelius and Eva Otha Sharp McGreevey. She began her professional journey at Ohio State University, earning a certificate in Dental Hygiene. Ann worked to support her beloved husband, Dr. Ralph Louis Lotshaw, as he completed his oral surgery degree. Together, they lived in several cities including Baltimore, MD; Columbus, OH; and Huntington, WV, before settling in Parkersburg, West Virginia, where they raised their family.

Their marriage lasted 61 years and was a beautiful example of lifelong partnership.
