Vandergrift (Pa.) Kiski Area offensive lineman Nick Anderson is already turning heads as a Class of 2028 prospect — and his recent stop at West Virginia’s one-day football camp only raised his stock.
The 6-foot-3, 260-pound lineman made the trip to Morgantown not just to visit, but to compete — and compete he did.
Though he’d been to West Virginia before, this was Anderson’s first time inside the football complex, and he quickly took notice of what sets the program apart.
“What stood out to me the most was how eager the coaches were to help during the drills,” Anderson said. “I was really surprised by how nice the facilities are and how well they take care of their players.”
Anderson spent the day working out at offensive line and got the attention of WVU offensive line coach Jack Bicknell. His footwork and speed stood out during drills, earning praise from the veteran coach.
“He was very complimentary of how I performed throughout the camp,” Anderson said. “I still have three years left in high school, so there’s a lot of time to keep improving.”
Bicknell and the Mountaineers staff took note of Anderson’s fundamentals and mobility, and they plan to keep in touch as he continues to develop.
“The coaching style there was something I really liked,” Anderson added. “It was very hands-on, and you could tell they really care about helping players grow.”
The visit to WVU came after a stop at Pittsburgh, and Anderson said he plans to return to Morgantown in the near future. He’s also set to visit Virginia Tech and Virginia this summer as his recruitment continues to pick up momentum.
Still early in his high school career, Nick Anderson is already showing the potential of a next-level offensive lineman — and West Virginia is definitely paying attention.
