A charter bus carrying the Medina High School girls’ lacrosse team caught fire on Interstate 77 North near Sissonville, West Virginia. The incident occurred while the team was traveling back to Medina after a trip to Charlotte, North Carolina.
Thankfully, all players, coaches, and staff members safely evacuated the bus before the fire spread, and no injuries were reported. Emergency responders arrived quickly to extinguish the flames and assist the team.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, though initial reports suggest it may have been due to a mechanical issue. The team was able to continue their journey home after making alternate travel arrangements.
