MORGANTOWN, WV — North Forney standout Legend Bey, one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2026 class, made his official visit to West Virginia University over the weekend — and it’s safe to say the experience left a mark.
“It was an amazing experience. I loved everything about this place,” said Bey.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound dual-threat quarterback received his offer from the Mountaineers back in late February. His trip to campus brought him face-to-face with the program’s vision for him — and made a strong impression.
A Firsthand Look at WVU Football
Bey’s visit included tours of the program’s state-of-the-art facilities, one-on-one time with players, and extended conversations with the coaching staff. Among those leading the charge to recruit him were head coach Rich Rodriguez, quarterbacks coach Rhett Rodriguez, senior offensive assistant Travis Trickett, and assistant quarterbacks coach Pat White.
The message from the staff was clear: they believe Bey is a cornerstone for the future of the program.
“The message from the coaches was I’m the answer for this program,” Bey said confidently.

Hosted by Tye Edwards, Exceeding Expectations
During his time in Morgantown, Bey was hosted by running back Tye Edwards, who showed him what life is like as a Mountaineer. From facilities to team culture, everything was well-organized and beyond what Bey anticipated.
“I was very impressed with how everything is set up and how everything is so neat and organized,” he said. “It was definitely better than what I expected.”

Big Stats, Big Potential
Bey comes off an impressive junior season that earned him District 10-6A Offensive MVP honors. He posted elite numbers — passing for 1,444 yards, rushing for 1,912 yards, and accounting for a whopping 41 total touchdowns.
That kind of versatility and production is exactly what WVU coaches are looking for as they build their future offense.
What’s Next?
While no commitment has been made, the Mountaineers have certainly positioned themselves well in Bey’s recruitment. He left the visit feeling strongly about what WVU has to offer, though he’s keeping his future plans open.
“We’ll see if I come back,” he said with a smile.
