Man Wanted After High-Speed Chase from Ohio to West Virginia

Authorities are searching for Jesse Lee Friend, 25, of Ironton, Ohio, in connection with a multi-county police pursuit that crossed from Ohio into West Virginia and ended in Mason County.

The Mason County Sheriff’s Office says the chase began on March 28 in Gallia County, Ohio, and continued into West Virginia, where it caused property damage and put law enforcement officers in danger.

According to investigators, the pursuit started due to a felony vehicle registration violation. During the chase, Friend allegedly tried to run over a deputy and ultimately crashed into a law enforcement cruiser.

There was at least one other person inside the suspect vehicle, officials said, though further details about that individual have not yet been released.

Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information about Friend’s whereabouts. Anyone who sees him or knows where he might be is asked to contact the Mason County Sheriff’s Office at 304-675-3838 or call 911.
