On Tuesday, May 6, donors across the Mid-Ohio Valley will have the chance to make a big impact during the annual Give Local MOV event. This 24-hour online fundraising campaign helps raise critical support for local nonprofits and doubles the value of donations through matching funds.
The event is organized by the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation (PACF), which covers campaign costs, manages a secure donation platform, and provides training and resources for participating organizations. Now in its 2025 edition, 67 nonprofit groups are taking part in the event.
From midnight Tuesday to midnight Wednesday, every donation made through will be matched dollar-for-dollar—up to a set amount—thanks to generous sponsors like Superior Toyota and the Mary M. Welch Advised Fund of PACF. Throughout the day, participating nonprofits will also have the chance to win hourly cash prizes.
“Give Local MOV is a great reminder that you don’t have to go far to make a difference,” said Julie Posey, PACF’s senior development and stewardship officer. “When we give local, we invest in the place we call home. And when that gift is matched, the impact is doubled. It’s a win for everyone.”
Each nonprofit starts with a designated portion of the matching funds, and those that surpass their initial goals may be eligible for a share of any leftover matching dollars at the end of the campaign. Supporters can review the full list of participating groups and plan their donations in advance at GiveLocalMOV.org.
