Free Community Yoga Returns to Point Park for 10th Summer

Full Circle Yoga is back with its beloved community tradition—Yoga at the Point—celebrating its 10th summer in 2025. Every Wednesday evening from May 28 through the end of September, residents and visitors are invited to unwind along the scenic Ohio River at Point Park in Parkersburg, WV.

Each week’s session starts at 6 p.m. and is open to all experience levels—whether you’re a seasoned yogi or just starting out. Best of all, thanks to the generous support of local businesses, the weekly class is completely free.

“We are thrilled to celebrate a full decade of doing yoga outdoors by the river,” said Cheryl McHugh, owner of Full Circle Yoga. “This wouldn’t be possible without the amazing partnerships we’ve built with local sponsors over the years.”

Three businesses—Annetta Crawford, Realtor; West Virginia Central Credit Union; and ONE Skincare Studio—have supported Yoga at the Point every year since its early days. In fact, 14 out of this year’s 18 sponsors are women-owned businesses, making the event not just about wellness but also about supporting local entrepreneurship.

Originally launched in 2016 with a small fee, Yoga at the Point became free in 2019 when Full Circle Yoga teamed up with small business sponsors to make the event more accessible to everyone.

“It’s important to give back to the community, and this is such a positive way to do it,” said Crawford, who is once again sponsoring a session this year.

The 2025 season also features live music from Barry Walker during each hour-long class, adding to the relaxing atmosphere. Attendees are encouraged to bring a yoga mat and water bottle and simply show up to enjoy the open-air practice.

Cheryl McHugh says community support for the program continues to grow. “Every year we are blown away by the number of businesses that want to support this. It means a lot to see people coming together to focus on both their physical and mental health.”
