Discovery World on Market in Parkersburg is throwing a birthday bash—and everyone’s invited. The children’s museum will celebrate its two-year anniversary with Izzy’s Birthday Party from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, offering fun, learning, and surprises for the whole family.
“This will be an exciting celebration for our community,” said Wendy Shriver, executive director of Discovery World on Market. “We’ll unveil four new exhibits during the party, and share in the fun with our guests as we unwrap these amazing ‘presents’ from generous local donors.”
Four New Exhibits Unwrapped
The museum will debut four new exhibits as part of the celebration.
- Two exhibits are sponsored by the Spartan Foundation.
- Two additional exhibits were funded by Chemours.
- Enhancements to the River Adventure gallery received support from United Way Alliance of the Mid-Ohio Valley, Chemours, and Sir Speedy.
Shriver noted these exhibits reflect the museum’s ongoing mission to bring engaging, hands-on learning experiences to children and families in the region.
Local Partners Join the Celebration
The celebration goes beyond new exhibits. Izzy’s Birthday Party will feature interactive activities, games, and collaborations with local organizations, including:
- West Virginia University at Parkersburg
- YMCA of Parkersburg
- Boys & Girls Clubs of Parkersburg
- Parkersburg Art Center
These community partners will host fun and educational stations throughout the museum. All activities are included with regular admission or membership.
