Coplin Health Systems is launching the summer season with a heartfelt tribute to local heroes. The Summer Salute Veterans Event will take place on Saturday, June 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Spencer’s Landing, located at 2800 River Road in Vienna, West Virginia.
This community celebration is designed to honor veterans and their families while offering a day full of fun, connection, and appreciation. The event is open to all veterans, their families, and community members who want to show their support.
A Day of Fun and Gratitude
Guests can look forward to food trucks, live music, local resources, and family-friendly activities throughout the day. Coplin Health Systems has created this event not only as a tribute but as a way to bring the community together.
“We’re thrilled to sponsor the Summer Salute Veterans Event,” said Sarah Casseday, Director of Behavioral Health at Coplin Health Systems and the event’s lead organizer.
“It’s all about creating a fun, safe space where veterans and their families feel appreciated. We also want people to connect with services and resources they may not know are available — and enjoy themselves while doing it.”
Each vendor participating in the event has been encouraged to bring interactive activities to their booths, especially for children, helping make the event family-centered and engaging.
Supporting a Greater Mission
The Summer Salute aligns with Coplin Health Systems’ broader mission — to care for the health and wellness needs of communities across western West Virginia and eastern Ohio. Events like this one allow Coplin to deepen those connections and serve beyond the clinic walls.
In support of this goal, retail and nonprofit vendors are invited to participate. Vendor booths will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and vendors are encouraged to bring their own tables and chairs, as no supplies or electricity will be provided on-site.
While there is no vendor fee, Coplin Health Systems asks each vendor to contribute a voluntary donation, which will benefit the Veterans Resource Center at West Virginia University at Parkersburg.
Honoring Service, Celebrating Community
By mixing meaningful recognition with lighthearted summer fun, the Summer Salute Veterans Event promises to be a memorable kickoff to the season — and a powerful show of community gratitude.
Whether you’re a veteran, a family member, a friend, or simply a supporter of those who’ve served, mark your calendar for June 14 and come enjoy a day of celebration and connection.
