A bold new dining experience is coming to Pullman Square. Bask Smokehouse, a modern smokehouse concept, has announced plans to open soon in the former Black Sheep Burrito and Brews location.
The announcement came via Bask Smokehouse’s brand-new Facebook page, which introduced the restaurant as “a contemporary take on the pits of Texas, the Southwestern U.S., Kansas and the Deep South — with unique Appalachian flair.”
New Restaurant from Familiar Creators
Bask Smokehouse is being developed by the same team behind several popular Huntington-area establishments, including:
- Bahnhof WVrsthaus & Biergarten
- Black Sheep Burrito and Brews
- Bad Shepherd
- The Loud
- Luna Pizza
With this track record, locals can expect a carefully curated menu that celebrates both smoked meats and regional innovation. The restaurant has shared that the menu will include a variety of smoked meats, seafood, and vegetarian options.
Hiring Now
In a follow-up post, Bask Smokehouse also announced that it is hiring for all positions. Those interested in joining the team are encouraged to submit a resume, although specific application details are expected to follow soon.
Filling a Void Left by Black Sheep Burrito
The Pullman Square location previously housed Black Sheep Burrito and Brews, which closed its Huntington doors on December 22, 2023, after 13 years in business. The Charleston location of Black Sheep remains open and operational.
With Bask Smokehouse set to take its place, the Pullman Square dining scene is getting a flavorful new addition rooted in both southern smokehouse traditions and Appalachian creativity.
