Joyce Kline Haynes, of Washington, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion to family and faith.

Born in Greenwood Township, Pennsylvania, Joyce was the second daughter of Frank Kline and Martha Jane Hidlay Kline. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Denver Keith Haynes, Jr., and her son, Benjamin W. Haynes.

Joyce is lovingly remembered by her son, Frank Kline Haynes and his wife Marilee of Huntersville, North Carolina; her daughter-in-law, Donell Haynes of Ripley, West Virginia; and six cherished grandchildren—Davis, Will, and Sia of Ripley, and Charlie, Sara, and Anna of Huntersville.

A graduate of Millville High School and Lycoming College in Pennsylvania, Joyce earned her degree in Art History and always spoke fondly of her college years.

After marrying and raising her two sons, she learned bookkeeping and helped manage her husband’s shoe business. In 1992, she began a second career as the Branch Office Administrator for Edward Jones, where she worked faithfully until her retirement in 2019.

Joyce’s spiritual home for more than five decades was The Memorial Church of the Good Shepherd in Parkersburg—affectionately known as the “Pink Church.” She served in many roles, including president of Episcopal Church Women, member of the vestry, and volunteer in the church’s food ministry for the homeless.

A devoted mother, Joyce supported her children in every way, including serving as a Cub Scout den mother. She loved visiting family and friends in her home state, picking strawberries for homemade pies and jam, and searching for the perfect antique or stylish piece of clothing.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate her life from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Vaughan Kimes Funeral Home in Parkersburg. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 903 Charles Street, Parkersburg, with The Reverend Katie Beth Miksa officiating.

Joyce will be laid to rest beside her husband at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
