Cynthia Jane Walters, lovingly known as Cindy, passed away on June 1, 2025, at the age of 63 in Valparaiso, Indiana. Born on February 9, 1962, Cindy lived a life defined by kindness, devotion, creativity, and unwavering love for her family and community.
A proud graduate of Parkersburg High School in 1980, Cindy went on to earn a degree in Chemistry from West Virginia University in 1984 and later, a Pharmacy degree in 1988.
Her education laid the foundation for a rewarding career as a pharmacist—a role she carried out with extraordinary care and compassion. Cindy was known for going the extra mile for her patients, always ready with a listening ear, trusted advice, and a comforting presence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Douglas Morgan and Martha Lee Gilbert, but she leaves behind a legacy that will live on through the lives she touched.
For over 35 years, Cindy shared a beautiful marriage with her husband, Samuel Walters. Together, they built a life in Valparaiso filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams.
Cindy was a devoted wife and a loving mother to their two children, Samuel Peyton Walters (married to Brigitta Holland Walters, née Schultz) and Madison Alexis Walters. She was also a proud and adoring grandmother to her precious granddaughter, Ameila Lovelin Walters.
Cindy is also survived by her siblings—Fred Morgan of Naples, Florida; Shirley Levine; John Morgan; and Doug Morgan, all of Parkersburg, West Virginia—as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Family was at the heart of everything Cindy did. She supported her children through every chapter of their lives—cheering at games, applauding at recitals, and encouraging them through academic milestones. She was their biggest fan, always giving her love and strength without hesitation.
Cindy’s passions extended beyond her family. A creative soul, she found joy in writing, sketching, scrapbooking, crocheting, and solving puzzles.
She had a deep love for flowers and cherished the quiet moments spent on her porch surrounded by nature and the companionship of her pets. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, where her cooking brought everyone together—her dishes remembered as the best by all who tasted them.
Some of her favorite places in the world included the sandy shores of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and the serene mountains of Western North Carolina. These peaceful getaways reflected Cindy’s gentle spirit and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.
Cindy’s faith was the foundation of her life. A devoted Christian, she lived by example—always ready to offer a helping hand, kind word, or comforting hug. Her love for the Lord shone through in her generosity, her warmth, and her ability to lift others up.
A memorial service to celebrate Cindy’s life will be held at a later date in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Details will be shared with family and friends once finalized.
In honor of Cindy’s compassionate heart, the family kindly asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made, time volunteered, or support shown to causes helping those facing mental health challenges. Cindy believed in caring for others—and now, we can carry on that belief in her name.
Cynthia Jane Walters will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the faith she lived every day.
