Multiple news outlets are reporting an officer involved shooting in Huntington early Sunday morning.
Cabell EMS at the convenience store on Eighth Street and Ninth Avenue reported a man threatening them with a handgun.
Luis Gonzalez, 47, was pursued by HPD K-9 units to the 1300 block of Ninth Avenue where he reportedly again brandished a firearm at police officers before being shot. Gonzalez received emergency care at the scene, and was transported to a local hospital. No public servants were injured in the armed confrontation.
While an investigation is continuing, police say Gonzalez will be charged with multiple counts of felony wanton endangerment.
