HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Walking for Recovery, hosted by the Marshall University Collegiate Recovery Community and Huntington Pride, will take place Saturday, June 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Marshall University Memorial Fountain on Marshall’s Huntington campus. This event aims to celebrate recovery from substance use, while also providing support and resources to individuals and families still affected by substance use disorder.

Walking for Recovery is a community-driven initiative that brings together individuals, organizations and public figures to promote the importance of recovery and offer a message of hope. The event will feature speakers Jan Rader, director of Huntington’s Council on Public Health and Drug Control Policy, and Mike Pushkin, West Virginia House of Delegates. Both speakers have been actively involved in addressing substance use-related issues in the region and are committed to making a positive impact on the community.

The event is open to the public and completely free of charge. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with local resources, participate in informative discussions and show solidarity in the fight against substance use.
